Explore Santa Cruz & Beyond

Upon arriving at Baltra Airport, you'll be greeted and helped with buying your ticket for the Airport-Itabaca Channel trip. A bus will then take you on a roughly 10-minute journey. After that, a ferry will transport you to Santa Cruz Island (a 10-minute ride). We'll make a stop in the Santa Cruz highlands to explore a Giant Tortoise Reserve, taking a relaxed walk to see the Giant Tortoises thriving in their native environment. In the afternoon, you'll explore The Charles Darwin Research Station, gaining direct insights into the conservation and research initiatives happening in the Galapagos Islands. Witness the baby tortoises and breeding programs that are working to save different tortoise species from dying out. There will also be a chance to view the enormous Galapagos tortoises. You'll spend the night at Casa Natura Galapagos Lodge on Santa Cruz Island.

Following breakfast at the Casa Natura Galapagos hotel, we will embark on a boat trip to explore Santa Cruz Island's bay. This tour lasts approximately three and a half hours. Beginning at the main dock of Puerto Ayora, a notable spot for observing diverse and colorful fish, we will also go to Punta Estrada, Sharks' Channel, Playa de los Perros, and Las Grietas. During the tour, we might encounter various species, such as white-tip reef sharks, sea turtles, marine iguanas, crabs, pelicans, and other seabirds. Upon completion of the excursion, we will return to the pier. The afternoon is free for independent activities. We will spend the night at the Casa Natura Galapagos Hotel on Santa Cruz Island.

Begin your day with breakfast at the Casa Natura Galapagos Lodge. Afterward, you'll be taken to the dock to board a boat for a group day trip to either North Seymour, Plazas Island, Bartolome, or Santa Fe islands, depending on availability. Refer to the end of this document for a detailed tour description. In the afternoon, you will be transported back to the hotel. Stay the night at the lodge on Santa Cruz Island.

Following breakfast at Casa Natura Galapagos Lodge, guests will be transferred to Baltra Airport for their flight back to the mainland for connecting flights or to continue exploring Ecuador.
